ASSA ABLOY wireless access control bags major award
ASSA ABLOY’s Aperio H100 electronic handle bagged the Detektor International’s Innovative Achievement Award 2018. The ID and Access Control Award was presented to Magnus Bæckström, Business Unit Manager, Digital Handle Locks, at Assa Abloy Openings Solutions EMEA, during the last month’s Sectech Expo in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Detektor International jury commented that “Smooth and smart, the Aperio H100 access control door handle is a brilliant example of excellent product design.”
The new Aperio H100 packs the power and flexibility of wireless access control into a door handle. With easy retrofitting to almost any interior door, broad RFID compatibility via an inbuilt credential reader, and simple integration with third-party access systems, the H100 handle makes it cost-effective to extend your access control to more internal doors. A standard battery fits inside its slim handle, ensuring a minimal footprint and a discreet look suited to any door style.
“The recipe for our very successful product is 6 tablespoons of digital handle experience based on our Code Handle Door device, 4 tablespoons of Aperio global wireless access control leadership, and topped with a couple of teaspoons of Assa Abloy contemporary design,” says Magnus.
Magnus added “The result is powerful access control functionality in the simple form of a handle. No wiring is needed, and the H100 can work with an online access control system or offline. We are especially thrilled the jury recognized the product design. This is just one device, part of a much broader approach you will increasingly see with ASSA ABLOY designs.”
