Hamad International Airport (HIA), the main airport serving Qatar, has selected a new access control system using a combination of technologies from Nedap and TBS.
The HIA stepped up security by implementing an access control system that uses badge readers, biometric fingerprint readers, and is integrated with their management system. As part of the project, TBS developed a module to parse biometric fingerprint data in WSQ format, and also created a Swagger Interface to accommodate this integration.
The new access control system from Nedap and TBS was chosen as the ideal solution for the needs of Hamad International Airport. The new system is integrated with their existing management system. As soon as a badge is printed by their management system all cardholder data is automatically pushed to the new Nedap/TBS solution. The new Swagger Interface makes it easy to accommodate this integration, and the module – also newly developed – to parse the biometric fingerprint data ensures that all data is accurately transferred.
High quality integration
According to the company, the customer selected TBS because of TBS’s reputation for providing high-quality products and excellent customer service. The customer was also impressed with the TBS 2D+HD biometric fingerprint readers, which were installed on dual height pedestals at all HIA Access Control Point Gates. The readers were integrated with Nedap ACS controllers and provided the perfect solution for the customer’s needs. The design, installation and challenging high-quality integration were implemented by the systems integrator Lysys Qatar W.L.L.
2D Iron is the biometric solution
