Synectics, a leader in advanced security and surveillance systems, has announced new AI-driven features within Synergy security and surveillance software.
The latest release (v24.2) launches Synergy DETECT – part of Synergy’s AI Suite – alongside advancements to existing mobile app capabilities, improved data and privacy protection tools, and new third-party integrations.
AI-Powered Real-Time Risk Detection
With Synergy DETECT, compatible with fixed, PTZ, and thermal cameras, users can easily configure and activate twelve AI-based surveillance tools according to their needs.
Each solution has a different focus – from spotting safety concerns such as worker trips and falls, unauthorised entry to hazardous zones, or deviations from safety equipment protocols to identifying crowd formation, intrusion and suspicious behaviours such as loitering.

Expanded Mobile Capabilities for ‘Anywhere Access’
Further improvements to Synergy’s mobile app launched earlier this year for Android devices, means users can follow dedicated workflows on their devices and view live or recorded footage from selected cameras.
Enhanced tracking, mapping, and live task updates ensure that control room teams can see colleagues’ locations and the status of duties assigned.

Data Protection and Compliance Simplified
The Synergy release also introduces tools to ensure ethical and compliant use of surveillance capabilities. A policy creation wizard allows organisations to set up clear, easy-to-follow usage protocols for web and mobile app users, ensuring full compliance with data protection regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Additionally, existing privacy tools have been enhanced. A new “critical exception authorisation” feature allows designated users to temporarily bypass video privacy zones during emergencies, ensuring critical information is available when it’s needed most.
Streamlined User Experience and Powerful Integrations
The latest release focuses on enhancing the user experience. Updates include an easier-to-access ‘Help’ function and new ‘time hop’ options for faster video review. A PSN status dashboard has also been added to monitor system performance, simplifying troubleshooting for users.
Synergy now integrates with AXIS Event Streaming, which facilitates comprehensive support for all events originating from compatible Axis cameras, and Hanwha AI Analytics, which enables instant alarm notifications from Hanwha’s edge-based AI analytics.
